I was looking for.So I created one.
I started Quantum to do the work I loved. As it grew, my job changed: build the team, make the decisions, and create opportunities for others.
My dad was an engineer who brought computer parts home. I was fascinated by what I could make a computer do. That curiosity came long before I knew how to turn it into a career.
I left high school in my sophomore year and worked at a computer shop, then in manufacturing and CNC programming.
For five years, I applied for IT jobs without getting a chance. So I started Quantum.
Quantum began at a kitchen table, doing computer repair. Serving businesses gave me more to build than my own career: a team, room for people to grow, and a company that could last.
Solving technical problems got me started. Growing Quantum meant making harder decisions about our focus, our people, and how we worked. The move toward managed services put those lessons into practice.
“When we won that first [MSP] client, that made it obvious that that was the direction we wanted to go in.”
From 2020 to 2025, we grew our business client base, expanded our reach, and built departments and systems. Bigger work changed how I saw Quantum—and what I believed our team could do.
Expanded our physical presence with a branch office in Algoma, Wisconsin.
Began work on U.S. Department of Defense contracts.
A sales department, CRM, and contract automation supported our move toward managed services.

The work has changed.
So has my focus.
Today, my work at Quantum Technologies spans managed IT, cybersecurity, and AI. I’m building the team and systems behind that work—and experimenting with ideas we can turn into products.
Managed IT means taking ongoing responsibility for a client’s technology. That shift changed the team and systems I needed to build.
Managed services (opens in a new tab)In 2026, we specialized in CMMC and advanced cybersecurity. Security also shapes how I think about introducing AI.
Security approach (opens in a new tab)With AI in a Box, we bring information from a business’s existing software into one dashboard. It’s a practical starting point for better decisions and automation.
Explore AI in a Box (opens in a new tab)When an idea excites me, I start building to see whether it works. AI is no different. I’m interested in connecting business information, cutting repetitive work, and finding out what else we can build. Security has to be part of it from the start.
I still like figuring out how things work. Now that includes the business: who makes the decisions, where work gets stuck, and what needs to change so the team can grow.
The team can’t grow if every answer has to come from me. My job is to give people the context and authority to make decisions.
Moving from residential work toward managed services meant turning down work we once would have taken. I had to get comfortable with that.
Waiting rarely makes a hard decision easier. I’ve had to learn to address people and business issues sooner. The team needs that from me.
Sales, contract renewals, and daily operations need systems people can rely on. I’m building those so the business can grow without every detail coming through me.
I started Quantum to give myself a chance. What I’m proudest of now is the team—and building a business where people can grow. I want it to keep creating opportunities beyond me.
I’ve shared the lessons from building Quantum in interviews and conversations with other business owners.
Inside the changes we made at Quantum: building a sales department, introducing a CRM, and automating contracts.
